CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE- HEART DIASEAS :-

Heart disease describes a range of conditions that affect your heart. Diseases under the heart disease umbrella include blood vessel disease.

Cardiovascular disease generally refers to condition that involve narrowed or blocked blood vessels that can lead to heart attack, chest pain (angina) or stroke. Other heart conditions, such as those that affect your heart muscles, valves, or rhythm also are considered forms of heart disease.

TYPE OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE :-

  • Heart failure- When heart can’t pump enough blood throughout the body. Heart failure doesn’t mean that that your heart has stopped or is about to stop working.
  • Heart attack - When the blood flow to a part of the heart is blocked, usually by a blood clot.
  • Arrhythmia - It is a problem with the speed rhythm of the heartbeat caused by disorder in the heart’s electric system.
  • Atherosclerosis - Harding of the arteries, or when the inner wall or arteries become narrow due to a build-up of plaque(usually caused by a Diet high in Fat, cigarette smoking diabetes or hypertension). This limits the flow of blood to the heart and brain.
  • Aneurysm - It is a balloon like bulge in the wall of an artery or the heart muscles. This bulge can occur if the artery wall weakness. Pressure from blood moving through the artery or heart causes the weak area to bulge.

CAUSES AND RISK FACTORS THAT ORIGINATES CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES :-

  • Age
  • Family History
  • Hypertension
  • Sleep apnea
  • Diabetes Mellitus
  • Elevated Total Cholesterol
  • Tobacco Use
  • Physically Inactive
  • Obesity
  • Metabolic Syndrome
  • Depression, anxiety and Stress
  • Not enough sleep

LIPIDS RISK FACTORS :-

  • LDL Cholesterol >130mg/dl
  • HDL cholesterol<40mg/dl
  • Total Cholesterol>200mg/dl
  • Triglycerides>150mh/dl
  • Atherogenic dylipidemia

EMERGING  LIPID RISK FACTOR :-

  • Elevated lipoprotein remnants
  • Elevated lipoproteins(a)
  • Small LDL Particles
  • Elevated apoliprotein B
  • High total cholesterol/ HDL cholesterol ratio

SYMPTOMS OF HEART DISEASE :-

  • Uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the centre of your chest. It lasts more than a few minutes, or goes away and come back
  • Pain or discomfort in one or both arms, your back, neck, jaw, stomach
  • Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort
  • Cold sweat

TEST AND DIAGNOSIS FOR HEAR DISEASE :-

1. Blood Test :-

  • Lipid Profile
  • CRPhs
  • Homocystine

2. OTHER SCAN :-

  • Electrocardiogram(ECG or EKG)
  • Stress test(or treadmill test or exercise ECG)
  • Nuclear Scan(or thallium stress test)
